Storytelling with Power BI in PowerPoint

There is a new feature that helps embedding live Power BI visuals and pages into a presentation.

Imagine that you are presenting about your sales results by countries and a stakeholder asks a question about the distribution of sales within a country.
You won't need to change tools to answer the question anymore.

Steps to enable this feature:

In the Power BI Admin page a new setting appeared. The feature is enabled by default.

Under Tenant settings / Export and sharing settings:

The trickier part of the process is to enable the Power BI add-in for PowerPoint.

In order to deploy an add-in via Centralized Deployment, you need to be either a Global admin or an Exchange admin in the organization.

Go to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center:

In the admin center, go to the Settings > Integrated apps > Add-ins page.
Select Deploy Add-in at the top of the page, and then select Next.

It should work from now. Open PowerPoint, log into PowerPoint and if you go to Insert - My Add-ins:

Setup page from add-in

Now you can add either a report page by pasting the report URL from your browser:

or a single visual:

This feature does not change the fact that the user needs access to the report to be able to add it to the presentation.
